Every Duct System Is Contaminated

Mold Loves Darkness

The mold in your air ducts can make you sick

Evidence of Mold Growth

Contaminated evaporator coils

Moisture at 60 percent or above is required for growth, but less moisture does not kill mold, it just goes dormant. When your air conditioner is running, moisture condenses on the evaporator coils, causing a growth cycle. According to WebMD, mold is the biggest threat to your health in your home.

The supply vent pictured is a typical example, and it usually takes eleven or twelve years to start showing itself on your supply vents. Your health  is usually affected before any evidence shows itself on your vents, so take action early. Annual air duct sanitizing will stop and prevent this from happening in the future.

Your allergy symptoms will be at their worst in the morning because at night, you are sleeping with the lights off. (Remember, mold and bacteria thrive in darkness.) During the daylight, most of the live contaminants are killed by light before you breathe them.

Flexible Air Ducts Found in Most Homes

Flexible ducts are made of a round wire coil encased in bendable polymer skin. Fiberglass insulation often surrounds the plastic wall and a thin polyethylene or foil jacket covers the insulating layer.

The metal air ducts you see on TV commercials are usually found in commercial buildings.  So high pressure hoses or brushes some companies use could very well damage the thin polyethylene lining of the air duct...which means it will then have to be replaced by an air conditioning company.  Our sanitization process will not damage your air ducts in any way.

How We Decontaminate Ducts

First We Fog

Picture of a ULV fogger

We fog the entire system using a ULV (Ultra Low Volume) fogger, through a system intake, to kill every bacteria, virus and mold spore that the product has ever been tested on. This thyme oil product will continue to kill any contaminant that enters the system for up to two years. We do not introduce brushes into the supply ductwork as that can cause damage to flexible ducts and it would also release mycotoxins from the mold.

Then We Vacuum

Vacuuming air vents.

We clean all vents, both supply and intake vents, with a HEPA filtered commercial vacuum cleaner that does not in any way make a mess in your home. The entire process is usually completed in less than an hour and turns your entire duct system into an air purification system, instead of a breeding ground for mold and bacteria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please call us if you have any other question or concern.

No.

Most residential ducts in Florida are like yours, and can easily be damaged by spinning brushes and powerful negative air machines. Your air ducts are most likely the flexible kind and not metal as some ads show on TV (those are mostly in industrial buildings).  Flexible ducts are  round wire coil encased in bendable polymer skin. Fiberglass insulation often surrounds the plastic wall and a thin polyethylene or foil jacket covers the insulating layer.  Brushes inserted into flexible ducts will damage that thin polyethylene skin as will high pressure hoses.  Any loose dust and debris blows out every time your system comes on, so there is nothing to "clean". Sanitizing is what is needed to remediate the health risk.

No.

The product that we use to fog the entire duct system is the essential oil of the thyme herb and it's use does not require any precautions. It is the only natural disinfectant ever approved for use in HVAC systems by the EPA, and no PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.

No.

Our duct fogging addresses the entire system and inhibits regrowth for more than a year, so a UV light would be redundant, and not necessary. Light does kill mold and some other contaminants, but only where it shines. Most UV lights are expensive and are not installed in the proper place.

 Yes.

After we sanitize a duct system, we receive feedback from our customers:

  •  My asthma symptoms are gone
  •  My allergies are gone
  • I don't need my nebulizer anymore, except when I am not home
  • I am sleeping much better
  • I don't wake up with a head-ache anymore
  • I don't wake up with a stuffy nose or scratchy throat anymore
  • My unexpected nosebleeds have stopped
  • My skin rash has cleared up
  • My dog doesn't scratch all the time anymore
  • My cat doesn't sneeze anymore

Our normal charge in The Villages and surrounding area is $200 per system.

A normal service includes:

  • System inspection
  • Sanitizing entire duct system

Yes.  We will also clean your dryer ducts upon customer request from our air duct customers for an additional fee.

We Also Clean Out Dryer Ducts for an Additional $75

Dryer fires are the leading cause of house fires

Firefighters recommend having your dryer vent cleaned out at least once a year.  We offer this service to our air duct customers at no extra charge.

We prevent lint from backing up into the dryer

We either run a brush up through the duct, or blow out the lint, depending on the situation.  Don't worry...we do not leave this mess on your floor.
